KATHMANDU: A meeting of the House of Representatives under the Federal Parliament is scheduled to take place today at 1:00 PM, with the primary agenda of initiating discussions on the budget for the upcoming fiscal year.

During today’s session, Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle is expected to respond to questions raised during the deliberations on the annual budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2026-2027, which was previously presented to parliament.

In addition, Minister for Information and Communications Bikram Timilsina will table a proposal to send the ‘Film Bill, 2026’, which originated in the National Assembly, to the respective committee for clause-by-clause discussion.

Furthermore, the Speaker of the House is scheduled to read out a letter received from the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers regarding the addition of portfolios.

The Speaker will also inform the house about the nomination of members to the Business Advisory Committee and notify the assembly that the Alternative Development Finance Mobilization Bill, 2026 was not returned from the National Assembly within the stipulated timeframe.
