KATHMANDU: The Government of Nepal has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of life caused by the 7.8-magnitude earthquake that struck the southern Philippines.

In a statement, Nepal extended condolences to the bereaved families and conveyed its sympathies to the government and people of the Philippines. It also expressed hope for the swift rescue of those still missing and the speedy recovery of the injured.

Reaffirming solidarity during the crisis, Nepal stated that its government and people stand with the Philippines as it responds to the aftermath of the powerful earthquake.
