KATHMANDU: A high-level delegation from China Agricultural University (CAU) and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) recently visited Tribhuvan University (TU) to forge a long-term academic and entrepreneurial partnership.
The delegation, which included CAU professors Xiaoyun Li, Qiang Dong, and Wenjie Zhao, met with TU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Sushil Bajracharya to discuss strengthening cooperation in education, research, innovation, and entrepreneurship. The visitors also held talks with the Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. Dubinanda Dhakal, and the Head of Rural Development, Dr. Suman Kharel, to explore joint research, technology transfer, faculty-student exchanges, and industry-academia partnerships.
Additionally, the delegation toured TU’s Business Incubation Center, where Prof. Dr. Tara Bhusal and Associate Prof. Dr. Pramod Paudel briefed them on local initiatives. The teams discussed collaborative ways to promote rural entrepreneurship, value chain development, and startup growth. Coordinated by Dr. Huma Neupane from the Research Directorate, the series of meetings concluded with a strong mutual commitment to transform these discussions into immediate, concrete actions.
