Five tourists injured in Myagdi vehicle crash

BENI: Five domestic tourists returning from a trip to Mustang were injured when their vehicle met with an accident at Titar in Annapurna Rural Municipality-3, Dana, Myagdi.

The incident occurred on a downhill stretch of the road when a Scorpio jeep, bearing registration number Ba 19 Cha 5602 and traveling from Jomsom toward Beni, suffered a brake failure and crashed into a roadside divider.

Out of the eight passengers on board, five sustained injuries in the crash.

According to Police Inspector Sagar Timilsina of the District Police Office, Myagdi, the injured individuals were immediately rushed to the Province Hospital in Beni, where they are currently undergoing medical treatment.

The police identified the injured passengers as 41-year-old Ranju Shrestha from Baneshwor, Kathmandu; 46-year-old Bindu Baral, 50-year-old Keshav Prasad Baral, and 53-year-old Devendra Baral, all residents of Zero Kilometer in Pokhara Metropolitan City-7; and 36-year-old Tara Kunwar from Srijangha Rural Municipality-2, Taplejung.

According to health workers in the Province Hospital Beni, all of the injured individuals are now out of danger, and their health conditions are steadily improving.

Meanwhile, police have taken the Scorpio driver, 42-year-old Nahakul Prasad Purasaini—originally a resident of Phulbari Municipality-2, Kavre, currently living in Amarsingh Chowk, Pokhara-10—into custody, and further investigation into the accident is underway.
