KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives was adjourned until 11:00 AM Wednesday after opposition parties continued to obstruct proceedings over remarks made by Prime Minister Balendra Shah regarding the Nepal-India border issue.
Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal suspended the session after the deadlock persisted in the chamber.
Opposition lawmakers have been demanding that the Prime Minister’s statement suggesting that “Nepal has also encroached upon India’s border” be removed from the official parliamentary record. They have maintained their protests, arguing that the remark should not remain part of the House proceedings.
The dispute has stalled parliamentary business, with no consensus reached between the ruling and opposition parties to end the impasse.
