KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has concluded its district conventions in 56 districts across the country as part of its preparations for its upcoming general convention.
While the majority of these districts have successfully selected new leadership, voting and organizational processes are still underway or pending in the remaining districts due to various technical reasons.
Notably, re-elections are scheduled to take place in Doti and Bajura, while the mountain districts of Manang and Mustang have not yet been able to hold their district conventions.
Following the completion of its ward and municipal-level conventions, the RSP has been aggressively accelerating its organizational strengthening campaign through these district-level gatherings.
According to the party, all seven provincial conventions are set to begin today.
These internal elections and restructuring efforts serve as foundational steps leading up to the party’s first general convention, which has been scheduled to take place on June 20 and 21 in Chitwan.
