GORKHA: One person died, and 14 others were injured in a microbus accident in Gorkha today. The electric microbus, which was returning from visiting the Manakamana Temple, met with an accident in Kantar, Sahid Lakhan Rural Municipality-3, this morning, informed Indra Prasad Subedi, Information Officer and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of the District Police Office, Gorkha.

The deceased in the accident is Padam Bahadur Darji, 37, of Tandiparsa, Khairhani Rural Municipality-2, Chitwan District, he said. The tailor who was injured in the accident died during treatment at Aanbukhaireni Hospital, DSP Subedi said. At around 11:25 am, the microbus was in a ravine about 15 meters below the dirt road.

14 people have been injured in the accident. The injured are 50-year-old Harikala Pariyar, 29-year-old Geeta Pariyar, 10-year-old Ritesh Pariyar, 13-year-old Sandhya Pariyar, 25-year-old Rupa Pariyar, 20-year-old Sanchita Ale, 35-year-old Pramila Rana, 43-year-old Bimala Pariyar.

The other injured are 31-year-old Raju Pariyar, 18-year-old Subana Pariyar, 21-year-old Abhishek Pariyar, 26-year-old Anisa Pariyar and 36-year-old Arjun Pariyar, DSP Subedi informed. The injured are undergoing treatment at Aanbukhaireni Hospital. The cause of the accident has not been revealed. Police have said that an investigation has been launched into the incident.
