2. Prohibited Content
Nepal News will not accept advertisements containing:
- Misleading, deceptive, or false claims.
- Hate speech, discrimination, or incitement to violence.
- Obscene, explicit, or offensive material.
- Promotion of illegal products, services, or activities (e.g., gambling, counterfeit goods, unlicensed pharmaceuticals).

3. Native and Sponsored Content
- Clear Labeling: All sponsored or native content must be visually and textually distinct from editorial reporting.
- Editorial Integrity: Sponsored content must not influence news coverage, editorial decision-making, or story selection.
- Disclosure: All partnerships, sponsorships, and affiliate relationships must be clearly disclosed to readers.
- Alignment: Sponsored content should reflect the values of Nepal News, maintaining professionalism, accuracy, and respect.
4. Data and Privacy
- User Data Protection: Advertisers must respect user privacy, complying with applicable laws such as GDPR where relevant.
- Consent & Transparency: Any use of cookies, tracking pixels, or other technologies must be clearly disclosed with user consent.
- Responsible Targeting: Ads should not exploit sensitive user data or manipulate audiences unethically.
5. Review and Approval Process
- Pre-Approval: All advertisements must be reviewed and approved by Nepal News’s Advertising Standards Team before publication.
- Content Updates: Advertisers must promptly correct any errors or update content to comply with regulations or company policy.
- Appeals Process: Rejected ads may be appealed through a formal review, with final decisions made by Nepal News’s editorial board.
6. Advertising Formats
- Display Ads: Must meet size, quality, and visual standards as defined by Nepal News.

- Pop-Ups & Auto-Play: Generally discouraged; exceptions allowed only for content that provides significant value and maintains user experience.
- Interactive & Native Units: Must clearly identify as advertising and avoid misleading the audience.
7. Advertiser Responsibilities
- Accountability: Advertisers are fully responsible for the content and claims of their ads.
- Third-Party Networks: Ads served through third-party networks must also comply with Nepal News policies.
- Ethical Marketing: Ads must avoid manipulative, exploitative, or sensationalist tactics that compromise user trust.
8. Editorial Independence
Nepal News maintains strict editorial independence:
- Advertising will never influence news coverage, story selection, or editorial decisions.
- Journalists and editorial teams operate independently of advertiser influence at all times.
9. Dispute Resolution
- Disputes arising from advertising practices will be handled according to Nepal News’s internal policies.
- Advertisers may be required to indemnify Nepal News against claims resulting from their advertisements.
