Foreign Ministry initiates diplomatic inquiry into Prisha Shah’s death

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has initiated diplomatic efforts to investigate the death of Prisha Shah, a student from Birgunj who was studying at the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) in the Indian state of Odisha. Shah was found dead in her hostel room on Thursday evening.

Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba expressed her sorrow over the incident via social media platform Facebook on Friday, stating she was deeply saddened by the death of Nepali student Prisha Shah, who was found dead in her hostel room at the Indian institute.

She added, “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs immediately launched diplomatic efforts yesterday itself through the Government of India, senior officials of the Odisha government, and the Nepali Embassy in Delhi to investigate the facts and truth behind the incident.
