KATHMANDU: The government has made public the decisions of the recent Cabinet meetings.
At a press conference held on Sunday, government spokesperson and Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung, announced the decisions taken during the Cabinet meetings held on Monday and Wednesday.
According to Minister Gurung, the Cabinet made 15 decisions on Tuesday and 14 decisions on Wednesday. One of the key decisions from Wednesday’s meeting was the reformation of the Recommendation Committee for the vacant post of Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB). The committee had been formed under the Cabinet’s decision dated Chaitra 11, 2081 (Bikram Sambat).
Following the resignation of Bijay Nath Bhattarai, a member of the committee, the government has decided to replace him with former NRB Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari and reconstitute the committee accordingly.
The Cabinet also approved a proposal to conduct an organizational and management survey of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport and its affiliated bodies.
Additionally, the meeting decided to promote one Nepal Army Brigadier General to Major General rank and two Colonels to Brigadier General rank.
Furthermore, the Cabinet approved the provision of official uniforms for contract-based armed forest guards deployed under the Ministry of Forests and Environment for security duties.
Minister Gurung shared that this decision ensures necessary support and uniformity for contractual security personnel operating in forest conservation roles.
