KASKI: A mild earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale struck Nepal’s Kaski district on Tuesday morning, with the epicenter pinpointed near Phulibang.
The National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Center, based in Lainchaur, confirmed that the tremor occurred at exactly 11:56 a.m. No reports of injuries or major property damage have emerged as of now.
This is the second quake to hit Nepal within a week. Just two days earlier, on May 26, a 4.3-magnitude earthquake was recorded near Ramidanda in Jajarkot district.
Nepal lies in a geologically unstable zone along the Himalayan fault lines. Seismologists frequently warn that the country remains at high risk of powerful earthquakes due to ongoing tectonic movements beneath the region.
