KATHMANDU: Nepal has set a mammoth target of 421 runs for Indonesia in the ongoing ACC Under-16 East Zone Cup cricket tournament being held in Malaysia.
After losing the toss, Nepal was invited to bat first and scored an imposing total of 420 runs for the loss of just five wickets in the allotted 50 overs.
Star batter Prashiddha Jaisi top-scored with a brilliant 132 runs. Rounak Srivastav contributed 88 runs, Parimarjan Yadav added 71, Joy Thapa scored 57, Sugam Budhathoki made 39, and Roshan Shahi chipped in with 10 runs.
For Indonesia, Ketut Dharmaputra took two wickets, while Kavin Nirachadda, Mahendra Pratama, and Riyan Riza claimed one wicket each.
Having already won their previous two matches, Nepal is eyeing a third consecutive victory. Nepal defeated Singapore in their opening match and beat Japan in their second game.
The tournament features 10 teams divided into two groups. Group ‘A’ comprises Nepal, Singapore, Indonesia, Bhutan, and Japan, while Group ‘B’ includes Malaysia, Hong Kong, Maldives, Thailand, and Myanmar.
