HETAUDA: Following an agreement between the ruling and opposition parties, the Bagmati Provincial Assembly is set to begin discussions on the upcoming fiscal year’s budget at 11 AM today.
According to Assembly Secretary Ram Kumar Paudel, discussions will be held on the proposed budget, followed by a response from Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning Kundan Raj Kafle. Time will then be allocated for presenting proposals to reduce expenditures.
The assembly resumed Thursday evening after consensus was reached. In that session, Chief Minister Bahadur Singh Lama (Tamang) and opposition leader Shalikram Jamkattel of the CPN (Maoist Centre) spoke on current issues.
The provincial government has proposed a budget of Rs 67.47 billion for the upcoming fiscal year.
