Nepal drops one spot to 176th in latest FIFA rankings

KATHMANDU: Nepal has slipped one place in the latest FIFA world rankings released on Thursday, now standing at 176th.

Last month, Nepal played two international matches: a goalless draw against Hong Kong in a friendly, and a 2–1 defeat to Laos in the third round of the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers.

Laos, who defeated Nepal, has risen five places to 185th overall. In South Asia, India tops the rankings, improving six places to 133rd.

The Maldives rank 171st, Bangladesh 184th, Bhutan 186th, Sri Lanka 196th, and Pakistan 201st.

At the top of the FIFA rankings is Argentina, followed by Spain, France, England, and Brazil in second through fifth places respectively.
