KANCHANPUR: Five members of the same family have fallen ill after consuming poisonous mushrooms in Kanchanpur.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Sagar Bohara, spokesperson of the District Police Office, informed that five people, including 63-year-old Kalu Sunar of Kalagad in Dodhara-Chandani Municipality-6, have fallen ill after consuming poisonous mushrooms.

According to him, Sunar’s 18-year-old granddaughter Nisha Sunar, 16-year-old grandson Bhim Sunar, 12-year-old grandson Basanta Sunar and eight-year-old granddaughter Mansusunar have fallen ill.

“All five members of his family fell ill after eating poisonous mushrooms brought from the Indian jungle,” said Bohara. “All five are undergoing treatment at Dodhara-Chandani Hospital.”
