KATHMANDU: Monsoon winds are currently affecting the entire country. The Meteorological Forecasting Division has stated that the monsoon low pressure line is located around the Sardar area.

The current weather conditions are currently partly to generally cloudy in the hilly areas of the country and partly cloudy in the remaining areas. Light to moderate rainfall is occurring at one or two places in Koshi, Bagmati and Karnali provinces, according to the Forecasting Division.

It will be partly to generally cloudy throughout the country this afternoon. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder/lightning at some places in the hilly areas of the remaining provinces including Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Sudurpaschim provinces and at a few places in the remaining regions. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain/snowfall at a few places in the high-hilly and mountainous areas of the country.

According to the division, it will be partly to generally cloudy across the country tonight. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder/lightning in many places in Koshi Province, Madhesh Province, some places in Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces, and a few places in the rest of the country.

There is also a possibility of heavy rain at one or two places in Koshi and Gandaki provinces. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain/snowfall at a few places in the high-hilly and mountainous regions of the country.

The Forecasting Division has urged the general public and all stakeholders to be vigilant and prepare for the possible rainfall, as there is a risk of inundation in urban and Terai areas, water levels in large and small rivers and streams may rise, daily life, agriculture, health, tourism, construction work around the river area, road and air transport may be affected, and windstorms may also have a partial impact.
