Nepal’s export surpasses Rs 297 billion in fiscal year 2024/25

KATHMANDU: In fiscal year 2024/25, Nepal’s exports reached nearly Rs 297 billion, growing by 81.08% compared to the previous year.

Key export items included soybean oil, iron products, yarn, sunflower oil, woolen carpets, readymade garments, jute products, juice, cardamom, plywood, woolen felt products, tea, pet food, pinenuts, pashmina shawls, cloth, catechu, palm oil, instant noodles, and cement.

Soybean oil exports surged by 117,333%, reaching Rs 10.68 billion, while iron product exports declined by 6.01% to Rs 1.636 billion.

Woolen carpets and woolen felt exports rose by 1.93% and 7.16% respectively. Sunflower oil exports increased dramatically by 7,436% to Rs 1.233 billion.

Cardamom exports dropped 3.24%, and tea exports rose 26.64%. Ginger exports fell by 50.38%, while pinenut exports increased by 22.8%.

Exports to India jumped 117.8%, reaching Rs 22.468 billion.

Nepal also exports to the US, Germany, UK, China, France, Australia, Japan, Italy, Canada, Turkey, Netherlands, and Afghanistan.
