KATHMANDU: Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Badri Pandey, has emphasized the government’s commitment to working in partnership with the private sector.
Speaking at a ceremony organized at the Ministry on Monday to unveil the new “Tourism Policy 2025,” Minister Pandey urged the private sector to move forward with confidence, assuring that the government is ready to coordinate efforts.
“The private sector should move ahead with self-assurance; the government is ready to cooperate,” he said. “Only when the private sector leads can we achieve positive results. We want to work together.”
Minister Pandey stated that following the promulgation of Nepal’s new constitution in 2015 through the Constituent Assembly, the ministry has been moving ahead with policy-level efforts to implement federalism.
He informed that the Culture Policy and Aviation Policy are currently under discussion in the Cabinet’s legislative committee and that 13 bills have already been advanced through the ministry.
Highlighting the new “Tourism Policy 2025” as a replacement for the previous 2009 policy, Minister Pandey said the slogan “Nepal: A Unique Tourist Destination” has been embedded as a structural vision of the policy.
“The policy aims to develop Nepal as an attractive, lifelong experience, and a safe, reliable, and sustainable destination,” he added. “This will also contribute positively to the national economy.”
