KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank has instructed banks and financial institutions to operate their critical systems and resume essential banking and digital payment services.
On Thursday morning, the central bank issued a notice directing licensed banks, development banks, finance companies, and institutions involved in payment systems to follow these instructions.
According to the latest statement from the Nepal Army, which has assumed the country’s security command, sensitive systems should be operated by a limited number of staff to allow essential movement.
For other systems, the central bank has requested institutions to arrange operations via remote access based on risk assessment and to inform the public about operational branches, ATMs, and available services through their websites and social media platforms.
