KATHMANDU:  Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC), the country’s national flag carrier, has announced plans to operate direct flights on the Kathmandu–Guangzhou–Kathmandu route.

Initially, the service will be introduced as a promotional flight to gauge demand and familiarize travelers with the new connection.

Currently, China Southern Airlines operates regular flights on the Kathmandu–Guangzhou route, while Himalaya Airlines also provides scheduled services to China.

With this new route, Nepal Airlines will establish its first direct connection to Guangzhou, enhancing options for Nepali travelers in one of the most popular international travel corridors.

The launch of Kathmandu–Guangzhou flights is expected to facilitate tourism, business travel, and trade between Nepal and southern China, marking a strategic expansion in NAC’s international network.
