KATHMANDU: The Federation of Nepal Gold Silver Gem and Jewellery Associations has urged entrepreneurs to adopt special precaution, saying gold and silver looted during Gen-Z protest could be brought to sell.
Issuing a press release on Tuesday, Federation General-Secretary Nir Bahadur Bishwokarma requested to run the business carefully as thousands of inmates have escaped from jails and incidents of robbery are taking place.
The Federation also asked the entrepreneurs to compulsorily check the verified identity card and necessary documents in course of trading as there is also high chance of bringing stolen gold and silver jewellery in the market, reads the statement.
Similarly, the entrepreneurs have been asked to make the arrangement of cctv, alarm and other equipment for the protection of valuable jewellery, not to allow unknown person enter the house and shops easily, to inform security personnel if any suspicious activities occur.
The Federation also urged the entrepreneurs to remain in coordination with local government and nearby police to run the business safely keeping the coming festivals in mind.
