KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) will reopen for trading from Thursday (Sept 18), ending the suspension imposed during the recent Gen-Z protests.
The Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) had directed a halt in transactions after the unrest, sparking widespread criticism when the closure continued even after the situation had eased.
On Tuesday, SEBON issued a fresh directive permitting normal trading in the secondary market.
Confirming the decision, NEPSE spokesperson Murahari Parajuli said the market will function as usual from Thursday in line with the board’s latest instructions.
