KATHMANDU: Two Nepali citizens, one from Rautahat and the other one from Baglung, who had been held in confinement near the Ukraine border, have been rescued.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jaya Prakash Sah from Rautahat and Sandesh KC from Baglung were rescued in coordination and initiation of Nepali Embassy in Berlin, Germany.
The rescue was possible following the support of Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service, Non Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Germany and other organisations.
Sah and KC are expected to arrive home soon.
The Ministry has urged one and all to fully follow the immigration and other laws of the respective nations while traveling abroad. “Violation, disregard or negligence of the laws of the concerned country may lead to arrest, prolonged detention or even the risk to life,” the Ministry cautions.
Additionally, the Ministry has said the process of rescue in such cases is not easy and has requested everyone to remain alert to various temptations and non-genuine offers, and to refrain all from engaging in any such affairs.
