KATHMANDU: At least 31 passengers were injured when a bus and a truck collided on the Bastipur road section of the East–West Highway in Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-19.
The incident occurred when a passenger bus (No. Na 6 Kha 2119) traveling from Chitwan to Birgunj lost control after a front tire burst and collided with a goods truck (No. Na 6 Kh 8180) heading from Hetauda toward Chitwan.
The truck then went out of control and hit an empty fuel tanker (Na 7 Kha 1774) coming from Kathmandu to Bara.
The accident took place Monday afternoon, and District Police Office Makwanpur’s Deputy Superintendent of Police, Shyamu Aryal, confirmed that all 31 injured passengers were traveling on the bus and trucks.
