KATHMANDU: Durga Prasai, coordinator of the ‘National Campaign to Save Nation, Nationality, Religion, Culture, and Citizens,’ has announced an indefinite protest demanding the restoration of Nepal as a Hindu nation and the revival of the 1990 Constitution.

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, Prasai expressed dissatisfaction with the interim government formed after the Gen Z movement, claiming the movement had been hijacked and diverted from its original goals.

“In the movement, fires broke out at Singha Durbar and the Supreme Court, and we too were shocked,” he said, warning that foreign interference in Nepal had grown since then.

Prasai accused the Barbara Foundation and Samata Foundation of hijacking the movement to install their own “suit-wearing ministers” in power.

He declared that after Dashain, Tihar, and Chhath, he would personally lead nationwide protests, rejecting the idea of “posting statuses on Facebook from inside a room.”

“The current government is not Gen Z’s government,” he said. “We will launch a movement demanding the re-establishment of a Hindu state that upholds Vedic Sanatan Dharma along with Kirat and Buddhist traditions. This is the land where gods reside—Lord Ramchandra is our pride. Until the Hindu state is restored, the movement will not stop.”
