KATHMANDU: Buddha Air, a private airlines company of Nepal, is set to resume direct flights to Kolkata, India.
Buddha Air had started the Kathmandu-Kolkata-Kathmandu air service from April 2019 but had to be suspended since the break out of COVID pandemic in December the same year.
The company is set to resume its service to Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal, India, from October 2. Initially, the company plans to operate flights three days a week, on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. The flight will depart from Kathmandu at 7:00 am and from Kolkata at 9:20 am local time. Operated by an ATR-72 aircraft, the flight duration of will be approximately one hour and 35 minutes.
The one-way fare for passengers has been fixed at Rs 13,353. This is the second international destination for Buddha Air, that operates flights to Varanasi, India on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
