KATHMANDU: US Ambassador to Nepal, Dean R. Thompson, paid a courtesy call on Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Physical Infrastructure and Transport, and Urban Development Kulman Ghising at Singha Durbar today.
On the occasion, Ambassador Thompson congratulated Ghising on his ministerial appointment and wished him a successful tenure.
According to Minister Ghising’s secretariat, the meeting discussed Nepal–US cooperation, the progress of US-funded projects, and the reconstruction of infrastructures damaged during the recent Gen Z protest.
Minister Ghising emphasized that the government’s key priorities were rebuilding infrastructures affected by the protest, holding a general election, and ensuring good governance.
Ambassador Thompson assured that the United States would continue its support to Nepal in these areas.
