KATHMANDU: The Nepali stock market slowed down on Thursday due to a protest by employees of the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE).
The NEPSE index fell by 2.35 points, closing at 2,652 points, with a noticeable drop in trading volume.
Total transactions for the day amounted to Rs 3.26 billion.
Among the trading companies, 107 saw their share prices rise, while 139 experienced a decline.
Investors of Himstar Energy Company Limited benefited the most, as the company’s shares hit the positive circuit today.
Conversely, investors in City Hotel Limited suffered the biggest losses, with the share price dropping by 7.55 percent.
Nepal Re-Insurance Company recorded the highest trading volume, with shares worth Rs 300.09 million exchanged.
