KATHMANDU: Nepal has been eliminated from the SAFF U-17 Championship after losing 3–0 to India in the semifinals on Thursday.

The match, held at the Racecourse International Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka, remained goalless in the first half. However, India sealed victory in the second half with goals from Gunleiba Wangkhem, Ajlan Shah, and Diamond Singh Thokchom.

Nepal came close to scoring in the first half through Prashant Moktan’s free kick and an attempt by Pratis Thapa but failed to convert.

Earlier in the group stage, Nepal had defeated Sri Lanka 2–0 but suffered a 4–0 defeat against Bangladesh.

The final will now see India face Bangladesh.
