RAJBIRAJ: On the occasion of Bada Dashain’s Maha Nawami, flower showers were carried out today at two major shrines in Saptari district with the help of a Nepal Army helicopter.
At the Kankalini Bhagwati Temple in Bhardaha, Hanumannagar Kankalini Municipality–1, flowers were showered from the helicopter.
This practice, which began three years ago, has now become a ritual on Maha Nawami day.
At the Kankalini temple, the tradition of buffalo sacrifice on Maha Nawami continues.
According to the temple development committee, 590 buffaloes had arrived for sacrifice so far. A large fair was also held at the temple premises today.
Similarly, flowers were showered at the Chhinnamasta Bhagwati Temple in Sakhada, Chhinnamasta Rural Municipality–3.
The event was organized at the request of the rural municipality, informed Chairman Bidhyananda Chaudhary.
