KATHMANDU: Starting today, vehicular movement along the BP Highway will be restricted at night until October 7.

The local administration has prohibited the operation of public and private passenger vehicles from 5 PM to 5 AM between October 2–7.

The decision was made to minimize potential risks as monsoon activity is intensifying.

The restriction applies to the Kavre Bhanjyang–Bhakundebesi–Sindhuli road section, where only vehicles providing essential services will be allowed to operate at night.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority had earlier warned of heavy rainfall in Kavre district, urging high alert.

Following this, the District Security Committee and District Disaster Management Committee decided to ban the movement of all public and private passenger vehicles, except ambulances and essential service vehicles.
