As households across the Kathmandu Valley celebrated the festival dedicated to Goddess Laxmi, the goddess of wealth and prosperity, the entire city came alive with brilliant decorations and illuminated streets.
Every home, business, and marketplace gleamed with decorative lights as people performed rituals to invite fortune and prosperity.
Following the traditional belief that “Laxmi does not dwell in darkness,” residents ensured that every corner of their homes was lit, turning the valley into a glowing sea of light and color.
From private homes to commercial complexes, the display of electric lights and oil lamps transformed the city’s skyline into a festive spectacle.
The vibrant illumination symbolized joy, devotion, and the hope for peace and prosperity in the coming year.
