KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Police have arrested four more individuals in connection with the murders of police officers at Maharajganj Police Circle and Koteshwor Police Post.
The arrested include Rajiv Gurung from Tanahun, Yunik Shrestha, Sumit Titung from Sarlahi, and Deepak Magar from Ramechhap, police said.
The suspects were apprehended from different locations in Kathmandu, according to SP Pawan Kumar Bhattarai, spokesperson of the Kathmandu District Police Office.
Bhattarai stated that Rajiv and Yunik were involved in the murder of ASI (Assistant Sub-Inspector) Milan Rai and Constable Uttam Thapa at Maharajganj, while Sumit, Deepak, and Anupam were involved in the killing of Head Constable Amrit Gurung at Koteshwor.
Earlier, five individuals — Som Bahadur Gurung, Hom Prasad Paudel, 28-year-old Tikaram BK, Buddhi Lal Tamang, and Yubaraj Kyapchhaki — had already been arrested in connection with the Maharajganj police killings.
Of these, four had been sent to prison for trial.
SP Bhattarai added that authorities are preparing to present the latest five arrested suspects before the court soon.
