KATHMANDU: The Department of Transport Management will begin printing driver’s licenses from Friday.
The process will take place at the Security Printing Center in Kavre. In the first phase, around 500 licenses will be printed daily, with a total of 1.2 million licenses planned for production.
The printing will be formally launched on Friday. According to the Security Printing Department, the printed licenses will be distributed within six months after completing necessary procedures.
An agreement between the Department of Transport Management and the Security Printing Center to print the remaining licenses was reached in May.
The Department will provide about Rs 270 million to the Security Printing Center for this project. The cost per license will be Rs 100 cheaper than those printed previously.
