KATHMANDU: Genese Solution, a UK-based IT consulting and cybersecurity firm, organised a Tech Job Enablement IT workshop in collaboration with Kageshwori Manahara Municipality on Friday.

At the event, Bhim Dhakal, Executive Director of Genese Solution, encouraged local youth to join the workshop and enhance their IT skills. “IT literacy has become a must for all groups of people, especially youth,” he said.

Dhakal expressed gratitude to Kageshwori Manahara Municipality for establishing the Innovation Center and highlighted Genese Solution’s commitment to helping local youth gain tech skills and access employment opportunities in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector.

During a presentation, Anjani Phuyal, Founder and CEO of Genese Solution, noted that bridging the gap in digital governance could generate thousands of jobs and help Nepal connect globally on its own terms.

“Genese Solution has established G-Tec, in partnership with Kageshwori Manahara Municipality, to empower community members, including youth, by providing industry-aligned skills, fostering innovation, and creating pathways to sustainable employment. We have been organising tech bootcamps to train local youth in web development, data science, AI, and cybersecurity,” said Phuyal, also a former AWS Ambassador for the UK and Ireland.

“We will connect local youth to certificate-awarding courses offered by AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud, directly linking them to the IT job market. Technology is not just about tools, it’s about people. Let us continue to create opportunities where young minds can innovate, inspire, and learn,” she added.

Upendra Karki, Mayor of Kageshwori Manahara Municipality, stated that the Innovation Center was set up with the vision of making the municipality a national IT hub. He stressed the significant opportunities tech education could bring to the community.

“Today’s youths are seeking education that leads to gainful employment. We are delighted to collaborate with Genese Solution and extend our sincere thanks for this timely initiative,” he said, adding that the municipality is working to create opportunities for the Gen Z.

Prakash Phuyal, Chairman of Ward No. 6 of Kageshwori Manahara Municipality, noted that many youths leave the country due to limited local employment opportunities.

He thanked Genese Solution for creating opportunities for local youth within their community and expressed full support from the municipality.

Earlier in August 2025, Genese Solution and Kageshwori Manahara Municipality signed an MoU to enhance digital literacy and workplace readiness.

A ‘Girls in Tech’ group has also been formed to encourage women’s participation in the tech sector.

According to a press statement, nearly 70 local youths have already registered at the center for various courses.

Genese Solution has offices in 10 countries, including Nepal, Bangladesh, Nigeria, and Finland.
