KATHMANDU: The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) is set to withdraw Rs 30 billion from the banking system today (Sunday) to curb rising liquidity.
Funds will be absorbed for 84 days through the Deposit Collection Instrument, following last week’s withdrawal of Rs 40 billion for 175 days.
Eligible Category A, B, and C banks and financial institutions can submit online bids until 2 p.m.The instruments can also be used as collateral with other institutions.
NRB regularly conducts such operations on Sundays and Wednesdays to stabilize liquidity in the financial system.
