KATHMANDU: Nepal Trade Union Congress has submitted a memorandum to the party leadership as part of its pressure campaign for timely election to the House of Representatives (HoR).
Acting President of NC, Purna Bahadur Khadka, was handed over memorandum, reminding party line to devote to HoR election at the earliest. NC needs to involve in the March 5 HoR election with a fresh policy and new leadership, it said, stressing the voting rights of the Nepalis working abroad.
The problems facing the industries and tourism institutions also warrant proper address, the Trade Union said. Union Chairman Yogendra Kunwar met Acting President of NC, Khadka, on Tuesday and submitted a memorandum before him.
He viewed both the political parties and government require addressing problems in factories that surfaced especially after the Gen Z protest. Even a 13-point decision of Trade Union Congress was shared before Acting President Khadka.
Kunwar expressed worry over the likelihood of capital flight with the closure of industries in the country. According to him, there are 400 thousand members in the NC-affiliated Trade Union.
