KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sushila Karki held a telephone conversation with her Sri Lankan counterpart Dr Harini Amarasuriya on Wednesday.
During the conversation, Sri Lankan PM Amarasuriya expressed gratitude for the 200,000 US dollars financial assistance received from Nepal, said PM Karki’s Secretariat.
The Sri Lankan Prime Minister telephoned Prime Minister Karki after the government of Nepal provided 200,000 US dollars in financial aid for rescue and relief operation to the people trapped in floods that hit Sri Lanka and expressed gratefulness for the generous support.
In response, Prime Minister Karki said, “As a friendly country, one should help other during times of trouble. It is our duty and religion. We are with you to tackle this difficult time.”
She also briefed about Gen Z protest and the subsequent developments and situation in the country.
The telephone conversation took place at around 8:15 pm this evening.
