PORTUGAL: The Embassy of Nepal in Portugal has started a two-day mobile camp at Madeira Island of Portugal targeting the Nepali migrants there for their passport renewal and document verification.
According to the Embassy, consular services started on December 6 in Madeira Island of Portugal.
The services include passport renewal, police report, family documents and verification of other documents.
Ambassador of Nepal to Portugal, Prakash Mani Paudel, has led the team of officials to provide consular services. It is stated that biometric details of the service seekers have been collected for the issuance of the new passport.
On Saturday, 20 Nepalis took the consular services and more than 100 Nepalis are expected to visit the mobile camp to get services.
The team is being deployed in Madeira Island to provide service to the Nepali citizens living there since the island is far away from the embassy site.
The mobile camp is being run by utilizing the holidays for the convenience of Nepalis at Madeira Island, Ambassador Paudel stated.
With the beginning of the consular services, the members of the Nepali community at Madeira Island have expressed their satisfaction saying that it has been effective for them.
