KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah has intensified political engagements, holding meetings with several political figures on Thursday morning.
Balen is currently in talks with Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane at the Kupandole residence of his chief adviser, Kumar Ben.
Earlier this week, the two held a six-hour discussion at the residence of former RSP lawmaker Asim Shah, who, along with leader Ganesh Karki, remains present outside today’s meeting venue.
Sources say the talks are focused on possible strategies for the House of Representatives election scheduled for March 5, 2026.
Also present outside the venue are Sagar Dhakal, who previously contested the parliamentary election from Dadeldhura against Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, and Sudan Gurung, chair of Hami Nepal.
Earlier today, Balen also met Kulman Ghising, Minister for Physical Infrastructure, Energy and Urban Development, and former Nepali Congress lawmaker Sunil Sharma, who said their discussion centered on possible outcomes of the House reinstatement process.
