PARBAT: Minister for Health and Population, Dr Sudha Gautam, has stressed that the three-tier government should invest for effective implementation of health insurance program.
Inspecting the Province Hospital Parbat today morning, Minister Gautam underscored the need of allocating budget by province and local governments as the budget allocated by the federal government for health insurance is not enough.
Many hospitals have been complaining of not getting health insurance budget and the federal government has not been able to provide the budget in lack of sufficient budget, she opined.
The Health Minister shared that the Health Ministry itself provided around one billion rupees to the Board after the Finance Ministry did not provide budget, citing insufficient budget.
She added that she has been urging province government and people’s representatives of local levels to allocate budget for health insurance program in next budget, saying the incumbent government has been continuously taking efforts to make the health service affordable.
Pointing out the need of arrangement of sufficient amount of medicines, human resources and equipment in public health institutions, Minister Gautam laid emphasis on the need of making different policies and plans to provide basic health facilities to the citizens.
The government would not leave any stone unturned for the treatment of the people, who were injured in Gen Z movement occurred on September 8 and 9, 2025, she stated, adding the government has been holding necessary discussion after martyr’s families have been demanding different facilities.
The Health Minister underlined that all should support to hold March 5 election to the House of Representatives in an impartial and fear-free environment.
On the occasion, Chairperson of the Hospital, Yam Pariyar, presented a memorandum incorporating various demands including necessary human resources, equipment, health insurance amount. The hospital has to get Rs 30 million as health insurance.
