NEPSE drops 10.25 points as turnover reaches Rs 11.659 billion

KATHMANDU: On the first trading day of the week, today (Sunday), the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) decreased by 10.25 points. Compared to the previous trading day, the NEPSE, which fell by 0.37 percent, stalled at 2,698.44 points.

The Sensitive Index also decreased by 0.85 points and dropped to the 459.63-point level. The Sensitive Index decreased by 0.18 percent compared to the previous trading day. In NEPSE on Sunday, at least 26,236,204 shares were bought and sold in 111,978 transactions of 330 companies. In this, a turnover of Rs 11.659 billion occurred on Sunday.

While 13 groups were traded in NEPSE on Sunday, only the indices of the Investment and other groups increased. The indices of the remaining 11 groups turned red.

Accordingly, the index of the Commercial Bank group decreased by 0.14 percent, Development Bank by 0.92, Finance by 0.01, Hotel and Tourism by 0.13, and the Hydropower group by 0.31 percent, while the Investment group increased by 0.08 percent.

Similarly, life insurance decreased by 0.71, the manufacturing and processing group by 1.15, the microfinance group by 0.21, mutual funds by 0.61, and the non-life insurance group by 0.32 percent. The Others group increased by 0.46 percent, while the Trading group went down by 1.30 percent.

In NEPSE on Sunday, while the prices of 85 companies increased, 168 companies decreased. The share prices of seven companies remained stable.

In NEPSE, which was fluctuating throughout the day, share investors of Super-Mai Hydropower earned 10 percent on Sunday. That is, a ‘positive circuit’ was applied.

Similarly, investors of Kalinchowk Hydropower lost the most share value, by 8.91 percent. Its final share price was maintained at Rs 982.

Super-Mai Hydropower was the company with the highest turnover today. A turnover of Rs 560,348,155 occurred for it on Sunday. The final share price of Super-Mai was maintained at Rs 486 per share.
