LONDON: The Chief of Staff of the British Field Army Troops, Major General Carl Boswell CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire), has praised the Nepali Army as a military institution with a proud history and a global reputation for excellence.

Speaking as the chief guest at a special ceremony organized on Monday at the Nepali Embassy in London on the occasion of the 263rd Nepali Army Day, Boswell stated that the British Army accords high respect to the Nepali Army for its extraordinary contribution to United Nations (UN) peacekeeping operations. He also mentioned that Nepali peacekeepers have earned worldwide praise for their discipline, empathy, and handling of the most complex tasks.

Major General Boswell further noted that the Nepali Army’s contribution to world peace and stability is extraordinary. He cited the example of the Nepali Army winning a gold medal in the world’s toughest exercise, the Cambrian Patrol Exercise 2025, held in Wales, United Kingdom (UK), stating that this reflects the Nepali Army’s endurance, strategic skill, resilience, leadership under supreme command, and military excellence.

While mentioning that British Gurkhas Nepal soldiers have become examples of bravery, loyalty, and professionalism, Major General Boswell also discussed how the partnership between the two armies has progressed through joint training and education, disaster response assistance, professional exchanges, and a shared commitment to peace, stability, and an international rules-based order.

He also stated that Britain and Nepal have continuously moved forward through shared commitments to joint training, education, disaster management support, professional experience exchange, peace, stability, and international relations for more than two centuries. He added that this partnership would remain enduring and stable.
