KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a six-point safety advisory for Nepali citizens residing in Israel and Iran, urging them to exercise heightened caution amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.

The ministry called on Nepalis to strictly follow security guidance issued by local authorities, remain indoors as much as possible, stay vigilant, take necessary precautions, and maintain regular contact with local Nepali communities.

The ministry also advised against traveling to Israel or Iran without prior approval from relevant authorities and urged citizens to stay in close contact with the Ministry in Kathmandu as well as the Nepali embassies in Tel Aviv and Doha. Those planning trips to Israel or Iran are encouraged to postpone travel until the situation stabilizes.

Nepalis living and working in other Middle Eastern countries are similarly advised to adhere to safety measures recommended by local authorities. The Nepali Embassy in Israel emphasized the importance of following all security instructions, particularly those issued by Israeli authorities and the Home Front Command, and requested citizens to stay near designated shelters or secure locations.

In Qatar, authorities issued emergency alerts, asking residents, including around 400,000 Nepalis, to avoid leaving their homes except for essential activities, following failed missile attacks targeting the country.

Nepali embassies in Bahrain and Abu Dhabi have also urged Nepali citizens to exercise vigilance and comply with local security guidelines.
