KATHMANDU: The first Cabinet meeting of the newly elected government has begun at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers. Ministers are arriving following their recent swearing-in and assumption of office.

Earlier today, President Ram Chandra Paudel appointed Balendra Shah (Balen) as prime minister. The newly appointed ministers also took their oaths and have now assumed their posts at Singha Durbar.

The Cabinet is expected to discuss and decide on important government initiatives, although most ministers did not make immediate decisions during their assumption of office.
