KATHMANDU: Following the arrest of CPN-UML Chairman K.P. Sharma Oli, the party’s General Secretary Shankar Pokharel has issued a strong warning to the government.

Taking to social media, Pokharel said that failure to release Oli immediately would come at a “very heavy cost,” accusing the authorities of acting out of prejudice and revenge.

“The price of bias and revenge is very high. Be responsible-release him immediately,” Pokharel wrote. His remarks come amid escalating political tensions following the detention of the former prime minister.
