KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress has decided to issue a statement on the arrest of former Home Minister and party leader Ramesh Lekhak only after completing an internal review.
A party official confirmed that the Congress will deliberate on both Lekhak’s and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s arrests before making any public remarks.
The review will take place ahead of a parliamentary orientation program organized for newly elected lawmakers. Scheduled for Saturday, the program aims to familiarize the newcomers with parliamentary procedures, practices, priorities, and the party’s manifesto, during which the party will also address recent political developments, including the arrests.
