KATHMANDU: Former Chief District Officer (CDO) of Kathmandu, Chhabi Rijal, has been arrested by the Valley Crime Investigation Office earlier this morning.

Rijal was serving as the CDO of Kathmandu during the Gen-Z protest held on September 08, 2025.

He faces allegations of ordering security forces to open fire on demonstrators during the Gen-Z movement. Authorities have not yet disclosed further details regarding the charges or ongoing investigation.
