NRB fixes foreign exchange rates for Monday

KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has released the official foreign exchange rates for today, Monday, setting the buying rate for one US Dollar at Rs 151.88 and the selling rate at Rs 152.48.

According to the central bank’s update, the buying and selling rates for other major currencies include the European Euro at Rs 175.70 and Rs 176.40, the UK Pound Sterling at Rs 203.63 and Rs 204.44, the Swiss Franc at Rs 190.53 and Rs 191.28, the Australian Dollar at Rs 107.01 and Rs 107.44, and the Canadian Dollar at Rs 108.57 and Rs 109.00 respectively.

Similarly, the Singapore Dollar stands at Rs 118.25 (buying) and Rs 118.72 (selling), while 10 Japanese Yen are priced at Rs 9.48 and Rs 9.52, and the Chinese Yuan is valued at Rs 22.46 and Rs 22.55.

For key currencies used widely by Nepali migrant workers, the Saudi Arabian Riyal is fixed at Rs 40.47 for buying and Rs 40.63 for selling, the Qatari Riyal at Rs 41.66 and Rs 41.82, the UAE Dirham at Rs 41.35 and Rs 41.51, and the Malaysian Ringgit at Rs 37.43 and Rs 37.58.

Furthermore, the Thai Baht’s rates are Rs 4.64 and Rs 4.66, 100 South Korean Won are set at Rs 10.01 and Rs 10.04, the Swedish Kronor at Rs 16.07 and Rs 16.14, the Danish Krone at Rs 23.51 and Rs 23.60, and the Hong Kong Dollar at Rs 19.38 and Rs 19.46. High-value Gulf currencies see the Kuwaiti Dinar buying at Rs 494.32 and selling at Rs 496.27, the Bahraini Dinar at Rs 402.81 and Rs 404.40, and the Omani Rial at Rs 394.47 and Rs 396.03. Meanwhile, the Indian Rupee remains pegged, with 100 INR buying at Rs 160.00 and selling at Rs 160.15.

NRB has noted that these rates are subject to change at any time based on market needs, and while rates offered by commercial banks may vary, the most up-to-date figures are always available on the central bank’s official website.
