KATHMANDU: Renowned Nepali comedian Khem Sharma has passed away in Baltimore, United States.
Sharma, widely known for his iconic role in the popular television drama ‘Chatureko Daupech’, had been battling cancer for the past seven years.
Following his demise, members of Nepal’s entertainment industry expressed deep sorrow, calling his death an irreparable loss to the comedy and film fraternity.
Comedian Shiba Hari Paudel paid tribute, recalling Sharma’s significant contribution to Nepali comedy, while film critic and director Prakash Sayami said his passing has created a major void in the country’s film and theatre sector.
Popularly known by his screen name “Chature,” Sharma is remembered for his strong presence in satirical comedy, which left a lasting impact on Nepali entertainment.
